Beside the Amateur Television (ATV)
there exists
the possibility to transmit pictures using
Slow-Scan-Television (SSTV).
Here, individual pictures are transmitted on narrow bandwidth.
As this mode occupies only a small frequency band, it is used frequently on shortwave
for world wide communication. New modes are created permanently and there is no end in sight of new ideas! This is a relatively new application in HAM Radio which became possible due to the use of personal computers by HAMs. |
