What do Radio Amateurs do ?

Radio Amateurs (called HAMs) communicate around the world with their equipment.

They communicate to other HAMs all over the world, using voice, picture and data communication.
They perform technical experiments. They operate automatic networks for data transmission. They are allowed to build their own receivers, transmitters and antennas. They help in emergency situations.
They perform different contests.
